Mandalas can be made of sand, flowers, stones, clay-- even vegetables! These sizzling bright mandalas were submitted by Peter Dimmick, an Athens, Georgia, artist who tends a backyard garden filled with varieties of peppers he has lovingly collected from heirloom seed catalogues, neighbors, friends and family. Arranging and photographing this colorful harvest is at one and the same time a celebration of Nature's generosity, an expression of a personal aesthetic, and a manifestation of the ordering principles that regulate the cycles of life.
